☆A Brief Introduction of Taizhou University
Taizhou University is a public comprehensive higher institution, approved by the Ministry of Education and administrated by Taizhou city and Zhejiang Province. It is located in beautiful Linhai city, one of National History and Culture Cities with a history of over 2,000 years. The city provides fast and convenient transportation, as it is only about 50 kilo to the airport and with the neighborhood of the intersection of Yong-Tai-Wen Expressway and ShangYu-SanMen-line Expressway. Taizhou University, with a long schooling history, has a solid foundation. It is originated from Taizhou Normal College established by State Council approval, which can be traced back to normal major, Santai Middle School in 1907.The university general information as follows:

☆ Enrolling Category
Enrolling Category : students for the further education of Chinese Language and Culture (Long-term and Short-term Classes)
The beginning date:
1. Long-term class: normally, the learning period lasts one whole year with 2 terms; School starts in every February (spring class) and September(autumn class). Each term has 18 weeks, with 24 classes per week. The required courses are arranged in the morning and elective courses in the afternoon. Each term there is 1-or-2 outside learning practice such as visiting, interviewing and discussion around mid-term.Students who have abided by Taizhou University regulations and who has earned required exam scores, will be conferred Completion Certification of Taizhou University.
2. Short-term class: It is arranged according to students’requirements.

☆Course Arrangement
The course of Chinese as a foreign language mainly includes
Basic Chinese, Applied Chinese and Literary Works,etc.
All courses are mainly designed for long-term(1 year)students with the assistance of Short-term classes based on necessities at the same time. In both long-term and short-term classes all courses are subject to student’s Chinese level and learning purposes. All required courses of the two classes are: Chinese (elementary, intermediate and advanced ), Spoken Chinese and Listening, Chinese Reading and Writing, Chinese Newspapers Reading, Selected Works Reading and so on.
In addition, the following elective courses are available to all students:
(1) Calligraphy (2)Traditional Chinese Painting; (3) Chinese Kongfu (4) Survey of China (5) History of China, (6)Chinese Classic Works Appreciation (7) Chinese Literature, (8) Economic and Trade Chinese; (9) HSK (Chinese test) Exam-oriented Training, (10) Chinese Phonetics

Seminars and lectures:
The followings are available to all:
(1) Chinese Custom and Folklore (2)Tea and Diet Culture of China (3)Chinese Opera (4)Chinese Folk Music (5) Chinese Aesthetics.
※All courses and seminars mentioned above will be modified according to the student’s request and practical situation.
☆Accommodation& Medical-care conditions:
＊ There are separate buildings exclusively for overseas students with single rooms. Taizhou University provides convenient facilities such as air-conditioner, color TV, telephone, internet access, bathroom and hot-water shower.
＊ Overseas students can either have meals at the dining hall with delicious and varied Chinese and Western food or can cook by themselves in the public kitchen .
＊ The hospital of Taizhou University is open to all faculty and students in 24 hours. All overseas students can also see a doctor in Taizhou Hospital nearby.

Deadline for applications: December 30 (spring class), June 30 (autumn class)
＊Successful applicants will receive Letter of Admission and a “Visa Application for Foreigners to Study in China” (JW 202 Form).
＊With the Letter of Admission, JW202 Form and Foreigner Physical Examination Record and Blood Test Record, applicants can go to the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate for visa application. With original documents mentioned above, applicants may come to our university for registration on the designated date on Letter of Admission.
